BACnet Websites on a Joint Internet Platform

Aachen, July 18, 2023 – The website of the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) is now part of the uniform BACnet presence on the World Wide Web. All relevant BACnet sites for the global, manufacturer-independent communication protocol, developed for building automation, are now integrated all on one platform.

With the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU), the official standardization committee ASHRAE SSPC 135, the BACnet Institute (TBI) for BACnet-oriented learning, the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL), as well as the BACnet International pages, the primary BACnet organizations are now available together in a uniform layout. This makes it easier for the user to find information about BACnet. Tested devices and their certificates, listings as well as meetings, conferences, and trade fair dates relevant to the BACnet community with BIG-EU participation, can also be found there.

The BIG-EU, the European BACnet user and industry association, has existed for 25 years. It was founded in 1998 by 18 building automation companies and now comprises over 120 members from all over Europe as well as Australia and North America. The BIGEU website can still be reached via www.big-eu.org.

About the BIG-EU

The BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) promotes the application of the global BACnet communication standard ISO 16484-5 in building automation and security technology in Europe. It was founded in 1998 by 18 building automation companies and currently has over 120 members from all regions of Europe as well as Australia and North America.

The objectives of the BIG-EU are the perception of European interests in the development of the BACnet standard – particularly with regard to energy efficiency and the reduction of the building sector’s carbon footprint. There is also an exchange of information with the BACnet-responsible ASHRAE committee “SSPC 135” and the American BACnet community. The group also has a joint marketing policy and qualification offer and has jointly developed technical guidelines. Further information is available at www.bigeu.org.
