New Voting Member of BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group Announced

Deborah Barrett of Hubbell Incorporated starts term as newest voting member

BACnet International is proud to announce the addition of Deborah Barrett as the newest voting member of the BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group (BTL-WG). Barrett was inducted during a BTL-WG virtual meeting on August 20, 2020. The BTL-WG operates under the auspices of BACnet International.

The BTL-WG provides technical oversight and guidance for the global BTL testing and certification program for BACnet products. The primary goal of the certification program is to improve BACnet interoperability among building automation products. Voting members are selected from knowledgeable experts in the BACnet community.

“Deb is a strong contributor to the BTL Working Group and we appreciate her enthusiasm and dedication,” said Andy McMillan, BACnet International president and managing director. “We are very happy to see her taking on greater responsibility.”

Barrett is a senior test engineer at Hubbell Incorporated and is responsible for working with developers and testing systems to ensure products meet both the functional and technical BACnet requirements from stakeholders. Her primary experience is working with and testing BACnet servers for networked lighting control products. As part of her role as a test engineer, she has become a contributing member of the BTL Working Group.
