BIG-EU promotes cross-vendor interoperability

Aachen, 08.03.2022. – After a two-year hiatus, the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) is once again inviting participants to the European BACnet PlugFest. More than 60 participants are expected to attend the international meeting of BACnet developers, which will take place in Zug, Switzerland, from May 2–4, 2022. Siemens Schweiz AG, is well prepared to host the event with its expertise and its new visitor center in Zug

2022 BACnet expert, Thomas Kurowski, Siemens standardization manager, will take over the technical moderation and organization: “For the first time after the BACnet Secure Connect (BACnet/SC) extension, we are offering a platform in Europe for testing new prototypes.” He is supported by Patrice Hell, development engineer at Fr. Sauter AG: “The BACnet standard has made an enormous leap forward in development,” says Hell. “There are many more device profiles and supported data layers than at our last PlugFest in 2019.”

At its 14th PlugFest, the BIG-EU is once again promoting the interoperability of BACnet products from different manufacturers. Device tests are organized in “pairing sessions” so that participating companies can test their products in detail in pairs. The PlugFest is open to all BACnet product developer and tester. The number of participants is limited to 22 teams for technical reasons. The registration deadline is March 18.
