Journal of the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) available online for free
The Middle East region is one of the most exciting markets for BACnet systems and BACnet applications. Therefore, the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) has been publishing a BACnet Middle East Journal regularly for several years. The current journal is available online at bacnetjournal.org/en/bacnet-journale/bacnet-middle-east-journal for reading and downloading.
The BACnet Middle East Journal no. 11 has two main focuses. On the one hand, it reports on current BACnet projects, with a focus on the Middle East. Examples are the lighting control in a World Cup soccer stadium in Qatar or the state-of-the-art building automation of a hospital in the United Arab Emirates. On the other hand, the journal informs about current developments and trends: Here, the focus is on BACnet Secure Connect (BACnet/SC). BACnet/SC is a turning point in building automation. The addition of a communication layer systematically protects the building infrastructure from attacks and is a significant step towards holistic cyber security in buildings. In addition, new products and services from the BACnet community will be presented.
The BACnet Middle East Journal is one of the regular BACnet publications. Other publications are the BACnet Europe Journal, the European trade magazine for building automation based on the BACnet standard, and the BACnet France Journal. The articles in the journals are written by experts, users and building automation professionals. Topics are applications and developments of the BACnet standard – from global trends in building automation to qualification and training as well as testing and certification to new devices and application examples. Last but not least, the BIG-EU also informs about its activities. More information about the journals at www.bacnetjournal.org.
